Welcome to the Department of Surgery - Specialising in general surgery, visceral surgery, minimally-invasive surgery and A&E surgery.

The Department of Surgery comprises 76 beds and an adjoining intensive care unit with 10 fully-equipped intensive care beds. The department’s critical care facilities include an interdisciplinary 24-hour Accident & Emergency clinic and a helipad. The Gemeinschaftskrankenhaus is therefore an important A&E port of call for paramedics in the Ennepe-Ruhr district in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
