The Witten psychiatric day-care clinic is the first facility of its kind offering treatment on the basis of anthroposphically-extended medicine, i.e. the extension of conventional psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment with artistic therapies, homeopathic medication and application of complementary methods from the field of anthropology.
Intensive clinical treatment is offered at this outpatient facility: our patients attend the clinic from 8 am until 4 pm and spend the rest of their time, including weekends within their home environment. This approach provides intensive treatment on the one hand and allows for continuation of daily life on the other. While inpatient treatment can thus be shortened or avoided altogether, patients are more strongly confronted with the stress of daily life. This is taken in account during treatment and the patient is continually assisted in finding, testing and maintaining strategies to manage their individual home situation.
